PLX Devices Inc. Unveils the Gas Saving Device Kiwi

Sunnyvale, California May 1, 2008 – PLX Devices Inc. today introduced the new gas saving device called Kiwi. Named after the green fruit, the PLX Kiwi is a fun and simple to use device designed to save an average commuter hundreds of dollars of gas a year. On average, users will notice about a 20% improvement in their MPG with Kiwi, resulting in less frequent trips to the gas station, extended ranges and a positive impact to the environment.

The PLX Kiwi installs into any 1996 and up vehicle, including hybrids, in a matter of seconds. Kiwi is a plug and play device which interfaces with your existing OBDII port, often located under your steering wheel. By driving with Kiwi, users will be equipped with the knowledge of how to “drive green” and optimize the efficiency of your vehicle simply by modifying your driving behavior in a fun game-like manner.

“By using the PLX Kiwi daily you’ll not only save money on gas, you’ll also do a significant part to help the environment and reduce your carbon dioxide signature by 2 tons/year. That’s equivalent to changing 500 light bulbs in your home to energy saver light bulbs.” Said Paul Lowchareonkul CEO of PLX Devices Inc.

The PLX Kiwi is about the size of an average cellular phone and is equipped with a brilliant 2.2” color organic LED display designed to mount near the vehicle’s dash in a similar fashion to a portable GPS device. The PLX Kiwi will begin shipping in June 2008 for a suggested retail price of $299 (US).

Saving Gas Made Fun
By using and driving with Kiwi on a daily basis, you’ll be trained with the knowledge how to drive more efficiently in a game-like manner. Your daily goal is to obtain the highest “Kiwi Score” by optimizing 4 key elements in your driving behavior (Smoothness, drag, acceleration and deceleration). In doing so, you’ll notice significant improvements in your MPG at the same time, making your drive more enjoyable.

Advanced MPG Information
The Kiwi is also an information displaying device. Kiwi not only displays your MPG, but it also displays how many gallons of gas you use. It keeps track of how dollars of gas you spend and SAVE. For example, if your commute from home to work is 20 miles, and you drive on average 20 MPG, you use exactly 1 gallon of gas. If the gas price is $4/gallon, you’ve used $4 of gas to drive to work. After using Kiwi, with a 20% improvement, you’ll notice your MPG rise from 20 to 24. With the same 20 mile trip, you’ll only spend $3.33 in gas saving you 66 cents per trip. Trip distances, gasoline used, dollars used and dollars saved are all displayed on Kiwi screen.

Scan Tool
The Kiwi is also equipped with an engine check scan tool. If your vehicle has an engine check light illuminated, Kiwi can identify the cause of your engine trouble and clear the light all in the comfort of your vehicle. With this feature, you’ll save time and money from having to bring your vehicle into the garage for servicing.

The Environment
In an average household, your vehicle is the primary contributor to the global warming gas, carbon dioxide. An average new model sedan driving 15,000 miles per year produces about 9 Tons of CO2. By using Kiwi and “driving green” you’ll save more than 2 Tons of CO2 per year. Simply by using Kiwi and driving green, your contribution to the environment is equivalent to planting about 80 trees.
